The Eggs Take Arizona

This trip was one of our favorites we’ve taken together. Christian had never been to Arizona, and it was so fun seeing him experience all of this for the first time. Truthfully, it stretched me (Kat) in a lot of ways I wasn’t expecting. I got so sunburnt on the first day, and had sun poisoning by the second day (and yes, I was reapplying SPF 50000 every hour). But y’all, it was one of the sweetest times with Christian I have experienced yet. We spent all day everyday outside in the Lord’s creation, roughing it more than I ever have before. We camped under the stars in the cold, huddled together in our tent. We climbed rocks, hiked down into the Grand Canyon, hiked mountains, ate way too much Jimmy Johns, and just thoroughly enjoyed time with each other. Check out some of the highlights below…

The amount of self timer photos we took during this trip is kind of embarrassing…

We hiked 10 miles into the Canyon, and hiked 10 miles back up. Switchbacks the whole way. The hardest and most rewarding hike I’ve ever done.

The second hardest hike I’ve ever done (not because it was challenging, but we had to climb some rocks to get here — something I had never done. It was a huge mental block for me, but my husband rocks and encouraged me to push through).
